Zero Liquid Discharge Solutions
Zero Liquid Discharge is a treatment process designed to remove all liquid waste from a system. The focus of ZLD is to reduce wastewater economically and produce clean water that is suitable for reusing a different range of applications, thereby saving money and being beneficial to the environment. ZLD systems employ advanced wastewater/desalination treatment technologies to purify and recycle virtually all of the wastewater produced. Also, ZLD technologies help plants meet discharge and water reuse requirements, enabling meet stringent government discharge regulations, recover higher water volume and recover precious composition from wastewater streams.
ZLD technology includes pre-treatment and evaporation of industrial effluent until dissolved solids precipitate as crystals. These crystals are removed and dewatered with a filter press or a centrifuge. The water vapor from evaporation is condensed and returned to the process. Apart from that, by this crystallization process industries could obtain commercial benefits as well recovering the most precious compositions and materials which could be disposed of with effluent discharge.
